Hey everyone, I hope you are having an amazing day. Today, I’m gonna show you how to make a special dish, koshari. One of my favorites. For mine, I am going to make it a little bit unique. This is gonna smell and look delicious.

Koshary, koshari or kushari is one of the traditional Egyptian food. This dish is considered the national dish of Egypt and a very popular street Egyptian koshari recipe is one of the easy Egyptian recipes. Koshari (also spelled Koshary or Kushari) is the national dish of Egypt.

Koshari is one of the most well liked of recent trending foods on earth. It’s easy, it is fast, it tastes delicious. It’s enjoyed by millions daily. Koshari is something which I’ve loved my whole life. They are fine and they look wonderful.

To get started with this recipe, we have to prepare a few ingredients. You can cook koshari using 18 ingredients and 4 steps. Here is how you can achieve that.

The ingredients needed to make Koshari:
  1. 2 tbsp oil
  2. 1 medium carrot finely diced
  3. 1 onion finely diced
  4. 4 cm piece fresh ginger
  5. 3 gloves, crushed
  6. 1 small red chilli finely diced
  7. 2 tbs tomato puree
  8. 2 tsp baharat spice
  9. 400 g tin chopped tomatoes
  10. 20 g brown lentils (I used red in this recipe)
  11. 400 g tin chickpeas
  12. 30 g organic brown rice
  13. 1 ltr vegetable stock
  14. 30 g vermichelli pasta, bashed into small pieces
  15. Handful fresh coriander leaves, chopped
  16. sprinkle of parsley, chopped
  17. to taste salt and black pepper
  18. 1 lemon, zested (optional)

Which is great because I love it. It's a great koshari recipe to get you hooked on the dish and to build from if you have certain flavors that you love or would want to add to it. Koshari, one of Egypt's National dishes, is a hearty dish composed of rice, lentils, chickpeas, pasta, topped with a spicy tomato sauce and fried onions. The final union of these simple yet carefully.

Instructions to make Koshari:
  1. Heat the oil in a large saucepan and saute the onion and carrot for 10 minutes until slightly brown. Add the ginger, chilli and garlic and cook for a further 2 minutes.
  2. Add the baharat spice, stir and cook for 1 minute. Add the tomato puree and tomatoes and stir well.
  3. Add the chickpeas, lentils, rice and vegetable stock and simmer on a low heat for half an hour. Add the pasta and season to taste. cook until the pasta is soft.
  4. Serve with crusty bread, a sprinkling of coriander, parsley and a grate of lemon.
