- 2 cups Whole Wheat/Gehu (soaked ova nite, boiled and blended)
- 1/2 cup Rice or Barley (soaked, boil with daals till all mushy)
- 2 cup Daals (masoor, chana daal, urad daal, yellow moong daal)
- 1 kg Mutton and 1/2 kg Steak (boiled in salt ginger/garlic paste) or 2 Chicken small pcs
- 6 Tomatoes (chopped)
- 2 Onions (sliced)
- 3 tsp Garam Masala
- Salt (as required)
- 2 tsp Chilli Powder
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Dhanya Jeera masala (or 1/2 tsp each)
- 2 tbsp Ginger/Garlic paste
- 6 tbsp Tomato Puree
- 2 Lemon juice
- 3-4 Green chillies
- Garnish: 2 cups Birista (crispy fried onions and chopped Coriander leaves)
Steps to make Whosayna’s Khhichda:
- In a big pot put 1/2 cup oil and fry onions till browned up add tomatoes and spices make a paste like add blended wheat, daal rice mixture, meat, tomato puree, 3 cups water and cook, keep on stirring add lemon juice and sprinkle garam masala.
- Cook till it's sticky consistency and meat shredded well.
- While serving garnish with birista and coriander leaves and red hot chutney.
