- 2 tablespoon chopped onions
- 4-5 green chillies
- 4-5 tablespoon mustard paste

- 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
- 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon coriender powder
- 2 chopped tomatoes
- Oil for frying

Steps to make Surmai fish Gravy with Mustard / মনোহরি সুরমাই-সরষে:
- Cut the Surmai fishinto medium large pieces and wash them. Drain the water from the fish and put them in a bowl. Put some salt and one pinch of termeric powder.Mix them properly. Now Take a frypan and medium fry the fishes with Mustard Oil. After frying stop the flame and keep the fried fishes aside.
- Now take a frypan, put some mustard oil and heat it on stove. Put chopped onions, green chillies with salt and fry untill onions become brown.
- Now put half of chopped tomatoes with ginger garlic paste into it and fry 1 minutes. Put termeric powder, red chilli powder, coriender powder into it with Mustard paste and fry another 5 minutes. Now put the fried surmai fishes with some water into the paste and stir fry 10-15 minutes.
- When they are 90% cooked, put some green chillies and chopped tomatoes into it and cover.Cook more 2 minutes.
- Surmai fish Gravy is ready to serve. Enjoy it with rice.
